Grant Fisher is a world-class American distance runner and two-time Olympic medalist from Grand Blanc, Michigan. Born on April 22, 1997, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, he grew up in Grand Blanc and began running in seventh grade after joining his middle school cross country team.

At Grand Blanc High School, Fisher quickly emerged as a national standout. He won multiple Michigan state titles, set high school records, and claimed two prestigious Foot Locker National Cross Country Championships. His prep career earned him recognition as one of the top high school distance runners in the country.

He continued his success at Stanford University, where he earned an NCAA title in the 5,000 meters and developed into an elite collegiate runner while studying electrical engineering. Post-college, Fisher has trained in Park City, Utah, and become one of America’s premier distance specialists.

Fisher’s breakthrough on the international stage came at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where he won bronze medals in both the 5,000m and 10,000m races – the first American man to medal in the 10,000m since 1964. He has set multiple American and world indoor records, including the short-track 3,000m and 5,000m. In 2025, he continued dominating with strong performances at U.S. Championships and World Championships.

Honors in his hometown include a statue at Grand Blanc High School and the renaming of the Genesys Health Club track in his name. Known for his consistency, tactical racing, and humble demeanor, Fisher remains a proud Michigan native and inspiration for young runners.
