Kate Howarth is a professional soccer forward from Grand Blanc. A standout at Flint Powers Catholic High School, she was a three-time first-team All-State selection before playing for the University of Miami Hurricanes from 2009 to 2012. At Miami, she earned All-ACC honors and remains among the program’s top career leaders in goals and points.

Upon graduation, Kate’s professional journey began in 2012 with the New England Mutiny in the Women’s Premier Soccer League Elite. The following year she was with the Boston Breakers in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Following those teams, Kate again for the New England Mutiny in the Women’s Professional Soccer League and later the United Women’s Soccer league, becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer and winning the UWS Offensive Player of the Year in 2019. Her resolve led to a professional comeback in 2020, when she signed with the Orlando Pride. 

Outside of soccer, Howarth has built a distinguished career in public service. She served as the EMS Director for the Norfolk Fire Department in Massachusetts and has also worked as a high school soccer coach. She frequently highlights how the teamwork and high-pressure training of firefighting parallel the demands of professional athletics.
